Smashburger Offers Free Burgers Saturday to Celebrate Route 1 Opening

In advance of the grand opening for Smashburger's new location on Route 1 just over the South Brunswick border in North Brunswick, the chain will be giving away free burgers on Saturday.

While the location will be having its official grand opening on April 22, residents can get a free preview of the menu on a first come first serve basis, on Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In addition, customers who line up before the official grand opening on April 22 at 11 a.m. will be entered into a drawing where 100 people selected at random will win one free Classic Smash burger per month, for 13 months. Participants can begin lining up outside of the restaurant on Monday morning at 9 a.m. Winners will be selected at 10:45 a.m. before the doors officially open.

“We are excited to open our new North Brunswick Smashburger location,” said Scott Gillman, CEO of Mascott Corporation. “As thirteen is our lucky number, we thought we would step up the excitement by giving away free burgers on Saturday before we open, then free burgers for 13 months to 100 lucky people on line on opening day.  We are committed to providing delicious high-quality burgers, fries and shakes and look forward to adding North Brunswick to our Smashburger family.”

Smashburgers use Angus beef, which is seared and “smashed” while cooking, and seasoned with a secret mixture used by the restaurant.

Other items on the menu include marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, grilled and split hot dogs, signature salads, Haagen-Dazs shakes. Side dishes include sweet potato fries, haystack onions, and “Smashfries,” which are tossed with rosemary, garlic and olive oil.

Smashburger, which will be located at 975 Route 1 South in North Brunswick, said it plans on hiring 50 new employees to staff the restaurant.
