Smashburger to Open on Route 1 in Late April

Smashburger announced that it will be opening its thirteenth New Jersey location on Route 1 in the South Brunswick area next month.

The new location in North Brunswick comes on the heels of another launch in Central Jersey, as Smashburger held a grand opening at the Summerhill Square in East Brunswick last month, continuing to expand its footprint in the state.

“We are excited to continue our expansion throughout the area with our new Smashburger located in North Brunswick,” said Scott Gillman, CEO of Mascott Corporation via release. “Our East Brunswick location has been very well received. We look forward to offering the same excellent service and top notch burgers, fries and shakes in North Brunswick. This location will create 50 new jobs and we are eager to hire friendly and dedicated individuals who share our passion for a better burger.”

Smashburgers use Angus beef, which is seared and “smashed” while cooking, and seasoned with a secret mixture used by the restaurant.

Other items on the menu include marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, grilled and split hot dogs, signature salads, Haagen-Dazs shakes. Side dishes include sweet potato fries, haystack onions, and “Smashfries,” which are tossed with rosemary, garlic and olive oil.

Smashburger, which will be located at 875 Route 1 South in North Brunswick, said it plans on hiring 50 new employees to staff the restaurant.

Smashburger is looking for cashiers, cooks, managers and shift supervisors. Qualified candidates must be 16-years-old and over to apply for cashier positions, and 18-years-old and up to apply for cooking jobs. 

Managers and shift supervisors must possess at least two years restaurant management/supervision experience.
