Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, they approached Cederberg, as he sat in his black Volkswagen GTI in that parking lot.
As they spoke with him, they smelled the odor of raw marijuana, so they impounded the car and applied for a search warrant. Cederberg was released at the time.
The warrant was approved and executed on Tuesday at Newark State Police Station on the Turnpike.
Police found two large bags of the “hydro” marijuana stored in the car, along with a personal amount of marijuana in the driver’s compartment.
On Tuesday, an arrest warrant was issued for Cederberg.
He turned himself in to troopers at the Newark station on Thursday. His bail was set at $250,000 cash-only and he was sent to the Middlesex County jail in North Brunswick.
Authorities also plan to seek forfeiture of his vehicle.
