South Brunswick Boys Earn Three Medals in Opening Track Meet
Goel, Barrood, Dickert earn honors in Toms River.

The South Brunswick High School boys winter track team got its season off to a good start by winning three medals in the Winter Opener meet in Toms River this past weekend.
Ishaan Goel had the best finish for South Brunswick, placing third in the 1000 in a time of 2:41.53.
"Ishaan is finally healthy after some significant injuries last year, so it was nice to see him start his season on a high note," South Brunswick Coach Stefan Moorhead said.

Chris Barrood, a senior, placed fifth in the 600 in a time of 1:30.41.
"We are also expecting a breakout season from Chris Barrood, so his medal in the 600 should be a confidence booster for him," Moorhead said.

"The boys had a bit of a down year last year, finishing third at the County Relays and fifth at the GMC Championships," Moorhead said. "We graduated several of our best athletes, but we have a number of good returners and some new athletes who we think can contribute right away. We hope to contend for both of the county titles this winter."
