South Brunswick Boys Golf 4th in GMC

Team finishes season 13-5.

While winning titles are wonderful, a lot can be said for a great effort and being known as a very good team.  Based on its season, the 2011 boys South Brunswick High School golfers will go down as a very good team.

"The boys had a great end to their season," South Brunswick Coach Mark Kraft said.

South Brunswick defeated Wardlaw Prep, 169-182, in the GMC semifinals. Despite being seeded eighth, South Brunswick then went on to place fourth in the GMC finals.

In other highlights to the season, the team was second in the Bomber Classic Invitational and third in the Viking Invitational. Spencer Alexander was selected to the All Red Division team.

South Brunswick finished with a record of 13-5 and qualified for NJ State Golf Championships for the 24th consecutive year.

"(We were) the highest finishing GMC team in the State Golf Championships," Kraft noted.

And South Brunswick is eager to make 2012 even better.

"We will have a strong team returning next year, led by sophomore Parth Ahuja and junior Sean Yun," Kraft said.
