
The South Brunswick High School boys lacrosse team is heading back to the championship game of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. Actually, South Brunswick is heading back to the championship game for the ninth time in 11 years.
The Vikings will play St. Joe's on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the GMC finals at Lombardi Field in Old Bridge.
South Brunswick earned its spot in the final by defeating Monroe, 7-2, on May 10.

Dom Violante led South Brunswick with three goals. Ryan Fraass scored two goals, and Mike Toto and Bobby Garavante added a goal each. Kenny Keenan had eight saves in goal. The team played great defense as it held Monroe to only ten shots on goal.
The Vikings defense, led by senior goalie Kenny Keenan, defensemen Justin Berger, Carlos Roman, Bryan Stonkus, and Alex Lorber, were dominant throughout the game. Dom Violante scored three goals and Ryan Fraass added two to lead the goal scoring.

"The boys played great team lacrosse," Coach Mark Ziminski said. "Everyone contributed to the win against Monroe. Team defense is the key to our post-season success. "
The Group IV State tournament seeding will take place on Monday with tournament play slated to begin May 21. The boys' junior varsity team will play in the finals of the first GMC JV tournament today against East Brunswick at East Brunswick at 4 p.m.
The JV boys beat Old Bridge 4-3 in the first round and then upset #1 St. Joe's 5-4 in the semi final round. The Vikes are led by goal scorers Thomas Presti and Dan Joseph.
