
After having played a competitive match against the one of the best teams in the state, the South Brunswick High School boys tennis squad will now get a chance to see how it does against the other teams in its county.
In its most recent match, South Brunswick was defeated, 3-2, by the host team of the Holmdel Classic Tournament on Apr. 20.
"Holmdel is ranked number three in the state," South Brunswick Coach Nancy McDonald noted. "South Brunswick is ranked number seven."

Fittingly, it was a very competitive match.
Nikhil Roy lost a total of only five games while winning his match at second singles. Rohan Bhatia lost only four games while winning at third singles.

South Brunswick reached the tournament final by defeating Moorestown, 4-1, earlier in the day.
Dylan Karcher-Sun (first), Roy (second) and Bhatia (third) all won their singles matches in straight sets. Jag Buddhavarapu and Alberto Tenias-Nieli picked up the other win at first doubles.
South Brunswick is currently 7-1 on the season. One of those wins was 5-0 against North Brunswick on Apr. 18.
Karchere-Sun, Roy and Bhatia won their singles matches. Jag Buddhavarapu and Alberto Tenias-Nieli won at first singles. Akul Bali and Akash Niranjan won at second doubles. South Brunswick only lost seven games combined in the match.
Starting on Apr. 27, South Brunswick will begin play in the GMC Tournament, held at Thomas Edison Park in Edison. The tournament will continue on until Saturday.
