South Brunswick Car Break-Ins Continue; Now Up To 24

They appear connected to similar car break-ins in neighboring communities in Somerset and Mercer counties, says South Brunswick PD.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick car break-ins continue, say police: As of Feb. 1, there have now been 24 reported incidents and they appear connected to similar car break-ins in neighboring communities in Somerset and Mercer counties, say police.

South Brunswick police detectives said they have recovered several images of the one single suspect, a man, but did not yet make those photos public.

His MO works like this: The suspect approaches cars that are parked both on the street and in driveways. If the doors are unlocked, the suspect will ransack the vehicle, taking loose items including change and electronics.

The suspect appears to wear gloves and something to partially obstruct his face. These burglaries are not limited to any one specific area of town. Residents are reminded to LOCK your car doors each night and report any unusual activity.
