South Brunswick Community Helps Family Of Dad Injured In Crash
Friends and neighbors have rallied to help pay for Francesco Russo's medical expenses after he was involved in a crash.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Fabiana Russo, a high school student from South Brunswick, made an appeal to her community last week. The teen asked friends and neighbors to help her family pay for expenses towards her father’s treatment. And the community responded.
Fabiana’s father, Francesco Russo, is currently in hospital with serious injuries after an accident on Oct. 29.
“On October 29th, my dad was in his truck heading home on route 130 in Robbinsville after finishing a job when he unfortunately was involved in a three car accident. He was hit head on by a tractor trailer which resulted in his truck bursting into flames with him inside. He is in critical condition and I don’t know how he is going to make it out,” Fabiana said on her GoFundMe page.

MidJerseyNews.com reported that around 12:26 p.m. on Oct. 29, the Robbinsville Police Department received 911 calls about a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a person trapped inside a construction-style box truck in the area of Route 130 and Voelbel Road.
The truck was on fire and police along with the fire department and employees of a nearby business worked together to extinguish the fire, before the driver could be extricated.

Russo, who was driving the truck, was taken to the Trauma Center at Capital Health Medical Center in Trenton, reported MidJerseyNews.
“I’m praying and I’m asking for all of you who see this for your prayers as well. This money will go towards any of the surgeries and medical bills that will not be covered," Fabiana said.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses not covered by insurance. As of Thursday, the community contributed $51,511 towards Russo’s medical expenses. The goal of the fundraiser is to reach $100,000.
Fabiana thanked the community for their love and support.
“My family and I are beyond grateful for your contributions, love, support and prayers. We thank you for listening and being there for us in this difficult time. Thank you all.”
