South Brunswick District Mourns Elementary Teacher Jennifer Spencer
Spencer was a third-grade teacher at Brooks Crossing Elementary School.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick School District is mourning the loss of elementary school teacher Jennifer Spencer. She was 62.
Spencer, a third-grade teacher at Brooks Crossing Elementary School, died on Jan. 15 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She was well-known for her dedication, kindness, and passion to students and staff alike.
During last Thursday’s Board of Education meeting, a community held a moment of silence in honor of Spencer.

“It was a sudden situation,” school Superintendent Scott Feder said.
“The school district was quite unprepared. It's been a very difficult time at Brooks, and our hearts, our thoughts and prayers are out for the Spencers.”

Born in Dallas, Texas, Spencer lived in Franklin Township. “Jenni was known for her contagious laugh, magnificent smile, adventurous nature, warm heart, selfless spirit, sincerity, fierce protective nature, and her love for children, animals and the environment,” according to her obituary.
A memorial service took place at the Trinity Church in Princeton on Jan. 20.
