South Brunswick Rt. 1 DWI Check This Saturday

South Brunswick police rarely do DWI checks, but they will be doing one this Saturday, May 4, somewhere on Rt. 1.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick police rarely do DWI checks, but they will be doing one this Saturday, May 4, on Rt. 1.

The checkpoint will be in an unnamed location on Rt. 1. They also did not give a time. It is being held in coordination with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s office. South Brunswick police said Saturday night is only the beginning, as they will increase drunk driving patrols as prom and graduation season picks up over the next five weeks.

“The checkpoint is part of our ongoing efforts to make our roads safer and reduce crashes attributed to driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs," said South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka. "We believe by raising awareness of our efforts and educating the public of the dangers we can reduce impaired driving.”
