South Brunswick Fire Ruled Accidental
It took 70 firefighters to fight the blaze on Avenue F off Finnegans Lane Sunday night.

South Brunswick, NJ - It took 70 firefighters, six different fire departments and more than five hours to fully extinguish, but Sunday’s garage fire on Avenue F in South Brunswick has been ruled accidental, the South Brunswick Fire Safety Bureau announced Tuesday morning.
Investigators with the Fire Safety Bureau believe the blaze was connected to a faulty chimney. The Sunday night blaze heavily damaged a two-story office/garage.
The fire first came in as a 911 call at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, reporting the fire on Avenue F off Finnegans Lane.

“On arrival we had heavy fire throughout the structure. We were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes. The structure is still standing but suffered heavy damage,” said Kendall Park Fire Chief Rob Cioffi.
The fire required six fire companies and 70 firefighters to battle. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control in twenty minutes but remained on scene until 3 a.m. Monday morning.

In addition to the Kendall Park Fire Department, the Monmouth Junction, Kingston, Franklin Park, North Brunswick, Rocky Hill and Plainsboro Fire Departments responded. The Kendall Park First Aid Squad also responded. There were no injuries.
