South Brunswick Food Pantry In Desperate Need Of Donations

The Director of Township Services called the food levels "critically low."

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ— For American families, Thanksgiving is a time to come together, not only to enjoy each others companies, but to eat food-- and lots of it. For many, the knowledge that copious amounts of food will be on the table is a given, but for others, even having any is in doubt.

The South Brunswick Food Pantry aims to curb those fears, and to provide Thanksgiving boxes to families who can't afford their own, but this year, even they're running a little low.

After giving out 85 Thanksgiving boxes to families with children, the Food Pantry only has left what you can see in the photos, which is to say: not a lot.

"We are concerned we won't have enough to help everyone," Jeanne Wert, Director of Social Services for South Brunswick Township, said. "Although we are receiving donations from schools, businesses, individuals, community groups, etc, we are not receiving the volume of donations we have had in the past."

The pantry is located on the lower level of the Municipal Building at 540 Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction, and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Donations can also be dropped off at the South Brunswick Public Library at 10 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction.
