Thanks to a great game on Friday night, the members of the South Brunswick High School football team were able to sleep in on Saturday morning.
"We made a bet where we could get Saturday off," noted South Brunswick senior two-way lineman Bryan Stonkus.
The bet was centered around the way South Brunswick played on Friday. After a 48-0 victory at Monroe, it was clear the players won the game and the wager.

"The offensive line is getting the job done," Stonkus said. "We're very disciplined up front. We know if we do our jobs, the plays will break. We'll then see the faster guys going by. That's what we want."

"We got up early and ended up having the JV come it at the end," Stonkus noted. "It was a good night."
South Brunswick, now 5-0, will be at home at 7 p.m. on Friday to host Old Bridge.
"We're looking forward to that," Stonkus said. "We have an awesome student section. It's great to have fans that even come to away games. It's definitely awesome playing at home."
Of course, there is one place every member of the team would rather play than a home game.
"We're treating every game like a playoff game," Stonkus said. "We all have visions of playing at Rutgers University (in the state title game) in December."
