
Going into the season, South Brunswick High girls lacrosse coach John Coppola had a pretty good idea that he had a strong team. He was right.
With four more wins this past week, South Brunswick has improved to 7-0.
"Knowing who was coming back, I had a feeling we'd be a team to beat in the league," Coppola said.

South Brunswick improved to 7-0 with a 10-6 win over Rancocas Valley on Apr. 18. Blaire Nathanson had 13 saves in goal. Casey Armstrong had three goals and two assists. Jenna Bussiere and Elle Hvozdovic added two goals each.
"We're a balanced team," Coppola said. "We're solid at every position."

On Apr. 16, South Brunswick defeated North Brunswick, 13-6. Jenna Bussiere, Elle Hvozdovic and Kelly O'Brien scored three goals each in that win.
"We have a coachable bunch of girls," Coppola noted. "They execute on the things we work on in practice. These girls have also been together for a couple of years. They are really comfortable with each other on the field. You can see that."
On Apr. 14, South Brunswick defeated East Brunswick, 17-2. Elle Hvozdovic had five goals and an assist in the win. Cara Bagley had three goals and three assists. Casey Armstrong had three goals and an assist. Angie Goff had two goals and two assists. Jenna Bussiere had two goals. Kelly O'Brien had two assists.
On Apr. 13, South Brunswick defeated Old Bridge, 15-7. Elle Hvozdovic and Jenna Bussiere both scored four goals. Danielle St. Vincent (assist), Casey Armstrong (assist) and Angie Goff (two assists) scored goals for South Brunswick.
"We have a good team" Coppola noted. "Our goals are to not only succeed in the conference, but also advance in the states as well."
South Brunswick has a big conference game against Monroe on Apr. 21.
"Monroe is 6-2 and that should be a competitve game," Coppola said. "That's a game that will probably have implications for the county tournament and the conference championship."
