South Brunswick Girls LAX Wins GMC Title

Vikings down Old Bridge 12-3 in the final of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament.

The South Brunswick girls lacrosse team came out firing against Old Bridge on their way to capturing the GMC championship on Thursday.

The Vikings (13-3) pulled ahead to a 7-1 lead at halftime before putting Old Bridge (13-4) away 12-3.

The Vikings were led by Cara Bagley (2 goals), Melissa Cavett (3 goals, 1 assist), Elle Hvozdovic (2 goals, 5 assists), Rachel Shaffer (2 goals) and Kelly O'Brien (3 goals, 3 assists).

Also contributing for South Brunswick were Julie Curcio, Nicole Deinzer, Emily Broxmeyer, Kelly O'Loughlin, Anne Marie Rolwood, Emily Ryan, and Anya Singh-Varma.

Goalie Liz Ruedemann recorded 10 saves in the championship victory.
