One of the great things about golf is the ball doesn't know how big or old you are. If you can hit a golf ball in the right direction with the proper amount of force and spin, you'll be very successful.
The South Brunswick High boys golf team certainly has a nice mix of veterans and youth. The one great thing they have in common is the ability to put the ball in the hole efficiently.
"The South Brunswick High School boys golf team is a young team with much potential," South Brunswick Coach Mark Kraft said.

Kraft has been around long enough -- and successful enough in that time -- that one has to trust him when he says a team has potential. Kraft has been the South Brunswick coach for 27 years. In that time, Kraft's teams have accumulated a record of 366-122.
South Brunswick is coming off a fairly successful season in which it went 13-6 and placed second in the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division.

"We have two seniors and a small group of juniors that will have to set the tone for the season," Kraft said. "The fire power will have to come from our large sophomore class. They are young but talented golfers."
The two seniors on the team are Spencer Alexander and Andrew Bergamasco. The juniors are Brendan Jackson, Nick Scudiero, Sean Yun, Nick Izzo, Vincent King, Kevin Lagarenne, Matt Lagarenne and Devan Naik.
Some of the underclassmen that have already made an impression include sophomores Joe Baguchinsky and Parth Ahuja. Freshmen Justin Atkinson and Thomas O'Toole have also showed solid skills in practice sessions.
According to Kraft, for South Brunswick to be successful it will not only have to be good, it will have to clutch.
"We will need to be able to score well in matches when the pressure is on to be successful," Kraft said.
That's because the other teams in the division like to apply pressure with outstanding rounds of golf.
"The GMC Red Division is loaded," Kraft said. "Every match will be huge, just like Big East basketball."
South Brunswick is scheduled to open the season Apr. 1 when it hosts St. Joseph of Metuchen. On Apr. 4, South Brunswick will take part in the Bombers Tee Off Classic.
