South Brunswick High School Announces 2022 Athletics Hall Of Fame

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Get ready to welcome back to town of the best high school athletes. The South Brunswick High School Athletics Department recently announced the 2022 athletics hall of fame.

"We are very excited to honor these inductees as they come 'Back Home' to be recognized for their outstanding achievements at South Brunswick High School," CJ Hendricks, Director of Athletics at South Brunswick High School, told Patch.

Eleven athletes and coaches will be inducted into the Viking Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

Here are this year’s inductees:

1. Indira Morton (2007) Cross Country, Indoor Track, Track & Field
2. Ryan Smith (2008) Wrestling
3. Sophia Ginez (2010) Cross Country, Indoor Track, Track & Field
4. Brendan Vercammen (2010) Soccer, Wrestling, Track & Field
5. Jessica Diggory (2010) Gymnastics
6. Cayla Del Piano (2012) Cross Country, Indoor Track, Track & Field
7. Lindsay Carbone (2012) Gymnastics, Track & Field
8. Joe Dougherty, Coach, Wrestling
9. John Coppola, Coach, Girls’ Lacrosse
10. Elaine McGrath, AD, Retired Director of Athletics
11. 1980 Baseball Team, Head Coach-Dennis Duttry

The induction ceremony will take place on Sept. 23 , at half-time of the varsity football game vs. Piscataway High School.
