South Brunswick High School Introduced New Morning Drop-Off Rules
Do you think these changes will help drop off?

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ-- Looking to alleviate some of the morning congestion, South Brunswick High School has announced new drop-off rules to reduce potential for harm and ease up traffic.
Principal Peter Varela announced the changes in an email to parents on Friday, citing a focus in safety as the reasons for the changes.
Parents will now merge into the flow of traffic once they drop their child off in the designated drop-off zone, eliminating traffic lanes that cut across the crosswalk. After several close-calls with pedestrians and cars not being able to see each other, this change will hopefully improve sight for all on the road.

U-turns have been banned anywhere on school property.
"In addition, we are continuing to observe cars dropping off students near the auditorium entrance and instead of waiting patiently in line, some of the cars are making u-turns and creating traffic issues that may result in accidents,"' Varela said. "Therefore, no u-turns are permitted anywhere on school grounds."

Most importantly, parents are encouraged to drop their children off between 7:00 and 7:15, when traffic is lighter and drop-off is easier. Between 7:16 and 7:30 is when the congestion hits.
If possible, children should plan to take their assigned bus or carpool with neighbors to eliminate congestion even further.
