South Brunswick To Host 51st NJ Folk Festival This Month
The Aug. 29 event features live music, a folk marketplace, tractor rides, and more.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Middlesex County’s 51st anniversary of the New Jersey Folk Festival will take place on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Davidson's Mill Pond Park.
Presented by the New Jersey Folk Festival in partnership with the Arts Institute of Middlesex County, the event is part of Middlesex County's 2026 FolkLIVE series, which celebrates diverse cultural traditions and local talent through music, dance, storytelling, and the arts.
The New Jersey Folk Festival is the state's oldest and largest celebration of folk culture, bringing together performers, artists, communities, organizations, and vendors to showcase historical, modern, and diverse folklife and folk arts from New Jersey and beyond.

Event highlights include live music and dance performances across multiple stages, a folk marketplace featuring artisans, crafters, and vendors, folk and agricultural talks, and a heritage area with live demonstrations.
Park and garden activities and tours will be presented by Middlesex County 4-H, the Middlesex County EARTH Center, and the Rutgers Master Gardeners. The event also includes a children's area with crafts and activities, local cuisine from food trucks and vendors, and tractor rides.

Free on-site parking is available in designated grassy areas, with a limited number of ADA-accessible spaces in paved lots. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a blanket.
The New Jersey Folk Festival event is part of FolkLIVE, a project of the Regional Folklife Center at the Arts Institute of Middlesex County with support from the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners. The Regional Folklife Center is a project of the New Jersey State Council of the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
