South Brunswick Indoor Track Victorious
Are you surprised?! Both girls and boys teams swept the Greater Middlesex Relays over the weekend.
South Brunswick, NJ - Both the boys and girls South Brunswick indoor track teams came home winners after the Greater Middlesex Relays Saturday in Toms River. Both teams are pictured above.
The boys indoor track team beat Old Bridge to claim their fifth-straight title. Meanwhile, the ladies set two records: Maggie Kaplan and Daniella Izzo both cleared 9’6 in the pole vault, which set a new record of a combined height of 19 even.
Essence Baker, Brianna Araque, Latisha Witherspoon, and Desirae Osley ran 4:05.38 to win the 4x400, and also set a new record. If you’ve been following South Brunswick track, you shouldn’t be surprised: The team set both those records in years past.

“We’re the defending champs and so we didn’t want anyone else to try and take the place from us so we all just wanted to win again like we normally do,” Desirae Osley told Mycentraljersey.com. “It meant a lot to us just because we lost so many valuable people last year and so it was great that we had people step up to the plate and run faster then the previous winners.”
Way to go, Vikings!
