South Brunswick Library To Celebrate Extended Halloween Weekend
The Public Library is planning to make Halloween fun for young people through virtual participatory events.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – The ongoing pandemic seems to have cast a spell on Halloween this year. Many events have either been cancelled or young people are apprehensive of venturing outdoors, after NJ reported high daily case numbers.

But the South Brunswick Public Library is planning to keep Halloween fun for young people through virtual participatory events.

- On Oct. 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the library’s teen department is hosting a virtual movie night. Register here and zoom link will be sent on the day of the event.
- On Oct. 31, the library is hosting a virtual Halloween party for children in grades 6 to 12. There will be a crafts session from 12 p.m to 1 p.m., followed by a virtual party. Craft kits were sent out to those who pre-registered. Post craft session, the teen department will host party games and maybe look at some fun costumes via slideshow. Spaces are still available. - On Nov. 1, the Teen Department is organizing a Dia de los Muertos skull craft session. Those who registered will receive their craft kits. The craft project will be done together live on Zoom with the provided materials. The event is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., for those in grades 6-12.
- The teen department will conclude the weekend Halloween celebrations on Nov. 2 with Halloween Jackbox Murder Mystery Trivia Night, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To register, sign up on the South Brunswick Public Library teen calendar or join the SBPL Teens discord account and get the link. Meanwhile, the South Brunswick police released a set of guidelines and suggestions for Halloween, in case people want to go trick-or-treating.
