South Brunswick Man Charged After SUV Overturns On Track: Police
The 31-year-old Dayton resident sustained injuries after his SUV overturned on a train track on Washington Road.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ —A 31- year-old man from Dayton, South Brunswick was charged with obstruction of justice by West Windsor police after his SUV overturned on top of a train track, police said.
According to the police, on Wednesday, patrol units responded to reports of a car fire on Washington Road, near the train tracks. On arrival, police said they found a blue Ford Escape overturned on top of the outer southbound track, facing east.
The car was unoccupied, which led the police to search the area for the driver and passenger out of concern for their physical injuries.

Police said they noticed a man walking in the nearby Washington Park office complex, who fled when officers attempted to make contact.
After a brief foot pursuit, police caught up with the man and was able to determine that he was the driver of the overturned SUV, police said.

The man was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center due to severity of the injuries.
Police said the Ford Escape was traveling east on Washington Road, when the driver failed to stop where the road came to a dead end at the train tracks. As a result, he crashed through the concrete jersey barriers causing the SUV to flip over and come to a rest on its roof.
After the collision, the driver exited the vehicle through the window, and fled, said the police.
The Northeast Corridor was operating on a modified track for approximately 90 minutes until the remnants of the SUV were removed from the tracks.
The driver was charged with Eluding, Obstruction of Justice, Hindering Apprehension and other offenses.
