South Brunswick Man Charged With DUI, Possession Of Drugs: Police
Christopher Robinson tried entering a resident's car in an intoxicated state and was in possession of 28 Oxycodone tablets, police said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 46-year-old South Brunswick man was charged with DUI, attempted burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous substance after he tried entering a resident’s car in an intoxicated state, police said.
On Jan. 7, about 9:30 pm, officers responded to Avenue A on reports of a man trying to enter a parked vehicle. The person who called the police said the man, later identified as Christopher Robinson, had pulled up in front of his home, parked blocking his driveway, beeped his horn, and exited his vehicle.
Robinson then walked to the man’s car, and attempted to enter it, police said. When Patrol Officer Bryan Garrison arrived, he found Robinson still attempting to enter the car. Robinson made several statements that were rambling, confusing, and would not account for why he was there or why he was trying to enter the vehicle, police said. Robinson admitted to having consumed alcohol prior to driving to Avenue A, according to the police.

Patrol Officer First Class Peter Santa then placed Robinson under arrest on suspicion of attempted burglary and Driving While Under the Influence. On being searched, Robinson was found to be in possession of 28 Oxycodone tablets and was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, police said.
“Mr. Robinson’s actions were erratic, and it was extremely dangerous for him to be operating a motor vehicle in that condition. Luckily, officers were able to arrest him and keep him off the roadways before he hurt someone,” Chief of Police Raymond J. Hayducka said in a statement. “We take Driving Under the Influence very seriously, and I commend my officers for their actions in keeping the community safe.”
