South Brunswick Man Charged In New Brunswick Shooting

A Monmouth Junction man is among the four men charged in the May 17 shooting at Tov Manor apartments in New Brunswick.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Monmouth Junction man is among the four men charged in the May 17 shooting at Tov Manor apartments in New Brunswick.

The shooting took place just before 9 p.m. in the vicinity of the Tov Manor Apartments, located at 99 Phelps Avenue in New Brunswick. New Brunswick police found the victim, a 27-year-old New Brunswick man, lying outside the apartment building. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and was treated for a gunshot wound.

On May 20, Robert Zucker, 33, of Monmouth Junction, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree attempted murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the second degree.

Three more men have been arrested in connection:

James Ward, 21, of Highland Park was arrested Wednesday and is charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the second degree. He was arrested in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Service. He is being housed as a fugitive of justice awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

On May 21, a 17-year-old juvenile was also arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with first-degree armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the second degree.

In addition, on May 22, Jada Gibbs, 21, of New Brunswick, was charged with first-degree armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the second degree
