'Donut Desperado' Strikes Dunkin' In South Brunswick, Police Say
A man is brazenly walking into local businesses, jumping over the counter and stealing their food. He may be streaming it to social media.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick police say a man they're calling the "Donut Desperado" is brazenly walking into local township businesses, jumping over the counter and helping himself to their food. And then walking out without paying
He films himself the entire time, and police think he is streaming it live to social media.
Police say he has done this twice now in the past week, to the Dunkin' (Donuts) on Georges Road and to the Chinese restaurant in the strip mall across the street. The man does not show a weapon, but in each incident, the employees said they felt too scared to confront the man, according to South Brunswick Deputy Police Chief Jim Ryan.

Police released a video of the most recent incident, which happened this past Saturday, June 1 at the Dunkin' on Georges Road. At 8:28 p.m. the man walked into the Dunkin', jumped on the counter and then grabbed a doughnut and a drink, and then walked out without paying.
He did the same thing a week ago at the Chinese restaurant across the street, Ryan said. He did not know what he stole from there. In both incidents, the man records himself while doing it and asks patrons in the restaurant if they want to be "live." Police think he is livestreaming this to social media sites such as Facebook and SnapChat.
