South Brunswick Man Killed In Henderson Road Crash

Police said the driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A South Brunswick man was killed after his pickup truck struck a tree west of Route 1 on Thursday morning, police said.

Police said they received a 911 call at 10:41 a.m. regarding a pickup truck crashing into a tree on Henderson Road approximately 100 yards west of Route 1.

According to the police, the pickup truck was headed eastbound on Henderson Road when it drifted across the westbound lane, exited the roadway and came to rest after striking a snowbank and a tree.

Police said the driver, in his 70s, may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

Witnesses pulled the unconscious driver from the truck and along with first responding officers began life saving efforts, said police.

The man was taken by South Brunswick EMS to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he was later pronounced dead.

An investigation is being conducted by South Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau into the crash.
