The event will have rides and attractions for children, and games and prizes for kids and adults, police said. Police, firefighters and rescue squad members will set up displays.

There will also be free hot dogs, soda, chips, ice cream, and popcorn, according to a news release from Police Capt. James Ryan.
The South Brunswick Municipal Alliance Against Substance Abuse will partner with police to hold the Charlene J. Austin Community Unity Day (CUD) Pavilion at National Night Out.

Community groups will share information on their services and programs.
National Night Out, America’s Night Out Against Crime, is held in communities across the country, as a way to promote crime prevention and partnerships between police and community members.
In South Brunswick, police are encouraging visitors to carpool to the park, on Broadway Road near Rowland Road. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“National Night Out is one of the largest community events in the Township each year,” South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said in a prepared statement. “It offers a great opportunity for the community to come together with the police to recognize the success of our partnership. The event celebrates the ongoing commitment to make our community a better place to live.”
