South Brunswick Police Charge Two For Landscaping Theft

Police said all stolen items were recovered and returned to the homeowners.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick Police said Thursday they charged a man and woman for landscaping theft.

Over the past three weeks, residents from the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick reported overnight theft of solar landscaping lights, potted flowers, a bird feeder, and lawn decorations police said.

Several victims took to social media to warn others, which prompted additional victims to come forward. Police said as they began to investigate the thefts, video of the suspects was obtained from multiple sources, including video doorbells.

Detective Brady Shelcusky said the description of the suspects and their pickup truck matched the one he had seen on a previous case.

Danielle Viszneki, 35, and her fiancé James Baker, 51, from Franklin Township were arrested for the theft, said police.

According to the police, Viszneki and Baker would drive around different neighborhoods and steal lighting, flowers, and other landscaping to spruce up their own front lawn.

Detective Shelcusky said he collected all the stolen items and returned them to the homeowners.

Police charged both with theft of movable property. They were processed and released on summonses, said police.
