South Brunswick Police Chief To Retire, New Successor Announced

Police Chief Raymond Hayducka will be retiring after serving the community for 38 years.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka will be retiring later this year after serving the community for 38 years, 21 as the Chief of Police.

The announcement was made by Township Manager Bryan Bidlack.

Hayducka’s retirement will be effective Sept. 1, with Deputy Chief James Ryan being promoted to the post.

“The South Brunswick community thanks Chief Hayducka for 21 years of leadership of the South Brunswick Police Department and over 40 years in law enforcement,” Mayor Charlie Carley said.

“His unwavering commitment to professionalism has advanced our police department which is recognized across the state as one of the finest agencies in New Jersey. I am confident that the Chief will remain a reliable voice for the safety of our town.”

Over the next few months, Ryan will work closely with Hayducka in order to have a smooth transition. He will be officially appointed to the post on Sept. 1.
