South Brunswick Police Dept. Now Hiring
The deadline to apply is April 10, with the police exam being given April 22 at South Brunswick High School.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Police Department is hiring. The department will be giving an entrance exam for potential candidates who want to become a police officer, Police Chief Raymond Hayducka announced Wednesday.
“We are looking for the best of the best to join our ranks and serve our community. I want leaders who will work through the challenges we face and overcome the obstacles put in front of them,” said Chief Hayducka.
The South Brunswick Police Department is one of only a handful of police departments in New Jersey that is both nationally and state-accredited.

The department currently has 84 full-time sworn officers and handles over 88,000 calls annually. South Brunswick is a 42-square mile Township that has over 50,000 residents and one of the premier public school systems in the state. The starting salary for a South Brunswick police officer is $36,414, and officers in the top range of the department make $119,205.
At a minimum, candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age, possess a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university; or have four years of active military service in the United States Armed Forces with an Honorable Discharge. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and hold a current driver's license.

The department will give a competitive exam administered by the New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Association. The deadline to apply is April 10, with the exam being given on April 22 at South Brunswick High School.
