Free Child ID Cards, Food Drive Coming To South Brunswick Sept. 26

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Police Department will host two community events in one on Saturday, offering free Child ID cards for parents while collecting food donations for local families in need.

Child ID Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Brunswick Municipal Building's Main Meeting Room, 540 Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction. Parents can get a free identification card for their child that includes a photo, physical description, thumbprint and emergency response procedures.

The card is not an official government-issued ID, but police say it gives parents a quick, reliable way to share key information with authorities in an emergency.

Families attending are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the "Cram the Cruiser" food drive, which will benefit the South Brunswick Food Pantry.

Pre-registration is required, and walk-ups will not be accepted. The registration deadline is Sept. 23. Families must both reserve an appointment time and complete a pre-registration form; QR codes for both are available on the department's flyer.
