South Brunswick Police Roll Out New Officer Trading Cards

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — The South Brunswick Police Department is introducing a new way for kids in the community to get to know local officers: trading cards.

The department announced the South Brunswick Police Department Officer Trading Card Collection on its Instagram account, describing it as an effort to build connections between officers and young residents.

"Our goal is simple—to connect with the youth in our community, build positive relationships, and give kids the opportunity to get to know the officers who proudly serve South Brunswick," the department said. "We hope you'll enjoy collecting each card and learning a little more about the men and women behind the badge."

Each card in the collection features an individual officer, offering children a chance to learn more about the people who patrol their town day to day. The department framed the initiative as a way to put a human face on the badge and encourage positive, informal interactions between officers and families.

Residents can begin collecting the cards starting Tuesday, Aug. 4, at National Night Out at Rowland Park, an annual community event that brings together police and residents for activities aimed at strengthening neighborhood ties.

"We can't wait to meet everyone and kick off what we hope becomes a fun tradition throughout our community," the department said.

The department indicated it hopes the trading card collection will continue beyond this year's event, becoming an ongoing tradition within the community.
