Ted Moke, Jim Nemeth and Rob Johnson combined to do the pitching in that win.
"Some of the players are college guys that didn't play a lot the past year," Cosumano said. "We're trying to build the arm strength up on the pitchers."
Ryan Phillips pitched a complete game in a 3-2 win over South Amboy on Monday.
"Ryan gutted it out," Cosumano said. "The leadoff guy was on in every inning and he just battled. Usually, that would be a recipe for disaster. Ryan worked his way through it.
"Phillips is one of the guys that can go 10 innings if we need him to. His arm is in great shape. Even so, we don't use him too much over 100 pitches."
South Brunswick defeated Clara Barton, 7-4, on Tuesday.
Johnson worked four innings in that contest.
"We had him on a pitch count," Cosumano said. "We'll take that off for his next start and see how far he can go."
South Brunswick will be back in action when it plays at South Amboy on June 23. South Brunswick will play Piscataway on Friday and Iselin on Monday, both in 5:45 p.m. games. South Brunswick will play Falls Township on Saturday at 11 a.m.
"We have a heavy schedule coming up, but we have a lot of pitching," Cosumano said. "We'll try and let the starters go at least five, if not six innings."
