UPDATE: South Brunswick-Sayreville Football Game Cancelled After Steroid Bust

Thursday's game was cancelled after Sayreville's defensive coordinator was charged with possession of steroids, testosterone and syringes.

Thursday’s game between Sayreville and South Brunswick was cancelled after Sayreville’s defensive coordinator was charged with possession of steroids, testosterone and syringes.

Sayreville High School, ranked No. 3 in the Home News Tribune Top 10, postponed Thursday night’s game against South Brunswick “due to serious unforeseen curcumstances,” according to the district’s Facebook page.

“Due to serious unforeseen circumstances, the Sayreville Bomber varsity football game scheduled to be played this evening against South Brunswick has been cancelled,” according to the school district’s website. In addition, the freshmen football game scheduled for this afternoon and the junior varsity game schedule for Monday afternoon have also been postponed.
