South Brunswick School District 2026-27 Calendar: First Day, Breaks, Snow Days

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Board of Education approved the 2026-27 school calendar at its March 5 meeting, setting the first day of school for students as Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Staff professional development days are scheduled for Sept. 1 and 2 before students arrive. The last day of school for students and staff is June 23, 2027, which will be an early release day coinciding with graduation. June 24 is a staff-only flex PD day.

Winter break runs from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, with Dec. 23 designated as an early release day. Students return from winter break on Monday, Jan. 4, 2027.

Spring break is scheduled for March 22 through 25, 2027, with March 19 an early release day and Good Friday, March 26, also a day off. Students return April 5.

The calendar builds in up to three emergency make-up days. If needed, they would be taken in reverse order: Day 3 on May 28, Day 2 on June 1 and Day 1 on June 2. Any additional snow days beyond three would be taken from spring break beginning March 22, 2027.

Other notable days off include Labor Day on Sept. 7, Yom Kippur on Sept. 21, the NJEA convention on Nov. 5 and 6, Thanksgiving break Nov. 26 and 27, Eid al-Fitr on March 10, Eid al-Adha on May 17, Memorial Day on May 31, Election Day on June 8 and Juneteenth on June 18.
