South Brunswick Schools Closed; Electricity Restored After 1,554 Lose Power

Schools will be closed Tuesday, and power was restored to 1,554 who lost power in the northern end of South Brunswick on Monday, police said.

The developments impacted include parts of Brunswick Acres, Deans Pond Crossing, Oaktree Estates, Deans Rhode Hall. Some traffic lights on Route 1 and Route 130 were also out.PSE&G officials were on scene trying to identify the cause of the outage.

Initial reports had identified a flash in the sky near Finnegans Lane prior to the outage.
