South Brunswick Schools Ranked as Top 20 in State

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - According to a new ranking released Tuesday by Niche.com, South Brunswick public schools are in the top 20 best public school systems in the state. South Brunswick schools are ranked as 16th best in the state, comparable to districts such as Montclair, Fair Lawn and Ridgewood, and better ranked than districts such as Westfield, Edison and Hillsborough. South Brunswick, with 8,804 students, is the 25th largest district in the state.

Nearby East Brunswick was ranked #7, joining Princeton, Chatham, Millburn, Montgomery Township and West Windsor-Plainsboro in the top 10 best New Jersey school districts. Princeton was ranked #1 for the second year in a row.

According to Niche.com, the average student-teacher ratio in South Brunswick public schools was 14:1; the average teacher salary is $73,000 per year. About 12 percent of the 8,804 students qualify for a free lunch, and the district spends $15,546 per student. Compare that to the national average of $$11,890 per student. High school graduation rates are 96 percent, and the average SAT score is 1,250 and the average ACT score is 30.
