South Brunswick Is Seeking Staff For 2023 Summer Programs

Participants accepted into the program are part of the Camp staff team. Application deadline has been extended until April 10.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Summer is here and if you’re looking for a summer job, this could be a perfect fit.

The Township is currently looking to staff their summer camps for this year and interested residents should be 14 years of age to volunteer.

They also need to attend a Counselor In Training (CIT) program and will receive volunteer hours at the end of summer.

The counselor training and mentoring program is led by the Summer Camp staff, including the Camp Director. Input from senior counselors and specialists are also taken into consideration.

The South Brunswick Parks Recreation Department and camp staff will provide the volunteer Counselor In Training with opportunities for personal growth, leadership training and volunteer work experience.

Qualified personnel will supervise, monitor and evaluate reviews of volunteers.

This is a minimum, two-year summer volunteer experience. Each summer, CIT’s who successfully complete their volunteer experience will receive a certificate of Community Service Hours.

Participants accepted into the program are part of the Camp staff team. They will attend staff training, orientation and meetings prior to camp where their input is welcome. Each CITs will rotate through various camp duties and throughout the summer will acquire increasing leadership and counselor experience.

Each CIT is assigned to a group with a Junior and Senior Counselor who also were CITs at one time.
