South Brunswick Spring Youth Dramatics Program Announced
Introduce your budding young actor to the world of theater.

New for this spring, the South Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring a four-week, Saturday morning Youth Dramatics Program for ages 3 ½ to 8-years-old, instructed by actor/educator Ana Kalet of Youth Stages Theater Company. Registration opens on Feb. 29 for South Brunswick residents and on March 15 for non-residents.
The program opens with "Farmyard Follies" on Saturday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. This 40-minute "play-workshop" serves as a "tickler" (an introduction) to the three dramatics workshops that will follow.
Come and join in the fun with this combination of stories and music with an "animal" theme. Participants will help provide lines of dialogue, sound effects, and movements as they bring songs and stories to life.

Some limited registration is available for children not attending the three workshops that follow. On Saturdays, April 14, 21, and 28 at the Community Center Parkview Room, there will be three weeks of creative dramatics workshops. Children ages 3 1/2 to 5-years old (with an adult or parent) will meet at 10:30 a.m. and children ages 6 - 8-years-old (no adult) will meet at 11:30 a.m.
Workshops are 45-50 minutes each. Instructor Ana Kalet will incorporate various theater activities and techniques with creative play transforming these experiences into creative drama. Stories will come to life as children act out the roles they choose. Language arts, visual arts, music and movement are all part of this fun and lively introduction to dramatics!
