South Brunswick Teen With Autism Missing

BREAKING: A 15-year-old South Brunswick teen with autism is missing, South Brunswick police announced Tuesday afternoon.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Update, 6:27 p.m.: The teen has been found safely and returned to his parents. A 15-year-old South Brunswick teen, who is non-verbal and has autism is missing, South Brunswick police announced Tuesday afternoon. A photo of the missing teen was provided above.

The teen was last seen at 2:30 p.m. at his home on Rocky Hill Road. A family member went to take a shower and the teen left the house, police said. The young man's name is Ghanan. More than a dozen Township police officers are combing the area around Rocky Hill Road and there is also a State Police helicopter and K-9 unit searching the area. Franklin Twp. and Plainsboro also both lent their efforts to the search.

"He's non verbal, so we're just worried about his welfare," said South Brunswick police spokesman Jim Ryan.

Ghanan was last seen wearing an orange shirt and grey shorts, with no shoes. Call 911 if you see the missing teen and remember he may not speak to you, police said.
