South Brunswick Wrestling Picks Up Two Wins at Tri-Meet

The Vikings downed West Windsor-Plainsboro North and West Windsor-Plainsboro South, but fell to Sayreville.

The South Brunswick High School wrestling team went 2-1 at a tri-meet over the weekend, with wins over West Windsor-Plainsboro North and West Windsor-Plainsboro South, and a loss to Sayreville, according to nj.com.

Barrons 120-pounder Jake Daniels scored a pinfall, a technical fall and a major decision. He pinned West Windsor-Plainsboro North’s Romell Khan in one minute, 18 seconds. His technical fall came against West Windsor-Plainsboro South, a 17-0 win over Michael Stentz. He defeated Sayreville’s Kevin Huertero, 10-0.

At 106 pounds, Faryd Daza scored two pins and a major decision. He pinned Sayreville’s Francisco Roman in five minutes, 41 seconds, and West Windsor-Plainsboro North’s Christopher St. Amour in 1:59. He scored a 12-4 win over West Windsor-Plainsboro South’s Griffin Valentine.

Brian DiBartolo went 3-0 at 126 for the Vikings. He defeated Sayreville’s Aaron Davis, 11-4, and West Windsor-Plainsboro South’s Sean Thompson, 4-1. He won his match against West Windsor-Plainsboro North by forfeit.

Dylan Nagy won three matches in two weight classes, winning two matches at 152 pounds and one at 160. He defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro South’s Ben Pincus, 7-1, at 160.

At 152, he pinned Sayreville’s Brett Dzamba in 4:38, and defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro North’s Josh Schupak, 7-1.

He alternated with Rishab Kholi, who was 2-1. He pinned West Windsor-Plainsboro North’s Charles Brobbey in 1:10 at 152, and pinned West Windsor-Plainsboro South’s Stanley Wang in 47 seconds at 160.

As a team, South Brunswick is 3-3 this season.
