'Suspicious Incident' In South Brunswick Was False Police Report: PD
A dozen officers responded to a home in South Brunswick on a report of a homicidal man. The report proved to be false, police said.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A woman suffering from a mental health episode made a false report to police, alleging a South Brunswick man was homicidal and had barricaded himself at home, police said.
On Tuesday, at 12:35 p.m., South Brunswick Police received a phone call about a distraught man in a home on Olsen Court.
The reporting person told police the man was homicidal and had barricaded himself inside the house, police said.

A dozen officers responded to the neighborhood and set up a perimeter as they attempted to make contact with the man.
Detectives contacted the man and found he was out of state at the time.

Officers then contacted a woman who was in the house and had her come out, police said. Officers searched the home to confirm there were no problems.
An investigation into the matter determined that the initial report was false.
Officers tracked the caller to a local hotel. They then met up with the caller and determined the woman was suffering a mental health emergency.
Authorities took the woman to an area hospital for treatment.
