Thank You for Donating to South Brunswick Winter Coat Drive

About 300 coats and blankets were collected in less than two weeks, organizers report.

South Brunswick, NJ - Patch reader Azra Baig wanted to thank everyone in South Brunswick who donated to the “Share the Warmth” winter coat and blanket drive, advertised on Patch and throughout the township.

I would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped contribute to the “Share The Warmth” coat and blanket collection for those who are less fortunate.

I was overwhelmed with the amount of items collected for this cause. In less than two weeks from February 5-18, 2016, we collected approximately 300 blankets and coats for adults and children.

These items will be distributed to the homeless and people in need in Newark, Phillipsburg, Jersey City, Paterson and South Brunswick. I feel blessed to have amazing friends and such a supportive community.

A special thank you to friends Alya Ahmed of South Brunswick, Arifa Zaheer and her two daughters of North Brunswick, Tracey Crowley of South Brunswick, Saima Iqbal of North Brunswick and Samira Ghani of Montgomery for opening up their homes for the collection.

Thank you to the South Brunswick Township management for offering to be a drop-off location, and to the South Brunswick community, who helped contribute to the cause. I am also grateful to the Hunger Van program that will distribute the coats and blankets to the homeless and people in need.

I am sincerely appreciative of everyone’s support and the team effort to help make the “Share The Warmth” collection a success.

Many Blessings to All.
