Once again this year, the township will be combining National Night Out with the Charlene J. Austin Community Unity Day event, which gives dozens of township organizations the opportunity to share information on their services and programs, while displaying the healthy activities they provide to help prevent alcohol, tobacco and drug use. As part of the celebration, police will be offering free hot dogs, chips, popcorn, soda and ice pops. There will also be plenty of games, music and displays by local first responders.

On Aug. 8 at 10:45 a.m., the South Brunswick Senior Center will present a lecture on Common Foot and Ankle Problems in Older Adults. This lecture will be presented by TwinBoro Rehab Center. Foot and ankle pain can impede your best quality of life. Please join us for this informative lecture and learn how to reduce your risk. This lecture is free and open to South Brunswick residents 55 and older only. The South Brunswick Health Department in partnership with South Brunswick Development Corp. is sponsoring a health education program “Dental Hygiene and Your Health” at 10:30 am on August 9, 2012 in the Charleston Place Community Room at 3424 Rt. 27, Kendall Park. Allison Corapi, DMD of Doctors of Dental Medicine, Dayton, NJ will be doing the presentation.  A free door prize will be given.  For further information call Nancy MacKay at 732-329-4000 ext. 7258 or Anne Marie Nystrom at 732-951-1700.  All are welcome.
