Traffic, Parking Details For South Brunswick July 4 Festivities

Here's a handy guide for what to expect from Friday's Independence Day celebrations:

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The township will be celebrating Independence Day on Friday with music, food and fireworks. The celebrations begin at 6 p.m. at Crossroads South Middle School.

Traffic:

South Brunswick Police expect increased traffic in and around the neighborhoods of Major Road, and Kingston Lane. The greatest volume of traffic is expected between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to police.

The streets off Major Road, Kingston Lane, and Georges Road will have increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Officers will be stationed in and around the event to assist with traffic issues.

Parking:

There will be no parking on Major Road near the school. The Crossroads South Middle School parking lots off Kingston Lane will be the primary location for parking. There will be limited parking at the parking lots off Georges Road. However, additional parking will be at the South Brunswick Public Library and the Municipal Complex.

The rain date for the Independence Day Celebration is July 8.
