It was a close game, but South Brunswick came out the victor, 57-53. Juniors Amber Brown and Natalia Louhisdon were standout players, with Louhisdon getting 10 points in the last 16 minutes of the game, including two free throws as the clock winded down. And the competition only intensifies from here: South Brunswick will play the second-seeded Monroe Saturday. The Lady Vikings lost to Monroe earlier this season in a crushing defeat.
The South Brunswick boys' basketball team also won their state quarterfinal game Thursday night, clinching it in overtime, 63-61 against East Brunswick.
