Two Jamesburg Teens Charged With Attempted Murder
Nobody was injured, but shots were fired on a side street in the borough Sunday night. One of the local teens was selling pot, police said.

JAMESBURG, NJ — Two Jamesburg teenagers, ages 17 and 16, have been charged with attempted murder after shots were fired on a side street off Rt. 522 in the borough Sunday night.
One of the teens was also charged with selling marijuana at the time, said the Middlesex County prosecutor's office.
According to Jamesburg Police Chief James Craparotta, police were called to the area of Franklin and Warren streets sometime after 7 p.m. Sunday, after people reported hearing shots fired in that area. Those are two side streets off the main road, Rt. 522, that runs through town.

The shots were fired outdoors in the street, Chief Craparotta said, not in a private home or building.
Nobody was hit by the bullets, but the two local teens have been charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal weapons charges.

Chief Craparotta would not tell Patch what the shooting was over, or release any information about the intended victim, citing an ongoing investigation. The 17-year-old was arrested that same day, and charged with marijuana possession, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a weapon during a drug scheme.
The 16-year-old was arrested a day later, Monday, Feb. 4. The younger teen was not charged with any marijuana offenses.
Both teens are local to Jamesburg.
