Two South Brunswick High School Seniors Awarded Scholarships At Conference

Two South Brunswick High School seniors were awarded scholarships at the South Brunswick Commission on Women’s 18th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference and Career Pathways.

Pooja Narayanan and Nishtha Raval were awarded scholarships, according to a news release from the organization.

A high school social studies teacher, Nicole Sanyigo, was given the Ellen Gambatese Memorial Award.

According to the news release:

The conference, was held March 21 and featured keynote speaker Tammy Tibbetts, a township high school graduate and president and founder of “She’s the First,” a nonprofit that sponsors girls’ education in developing countries.

Some 400 women participated in the event, which was held at the high school in the Monmouth Junction section of town.

Most of the funding for the conference came from the South Brunswick Township Council.

Donations were also made by Arthur and Debbie Roedel, the Islamic Society of Central Jersey and many local sponsors, including: Allegra Princeton, Best Buy, Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, Confectionately Yours, CVS, Dayton Toyota, Dollar Tree, Dusal’s Italian Restaurant, Fidelity Investments, Gennaro’s Italian Market and Catering, Home Depot, Johnson & Johnson, Kapadokya Mediterranean Grill, Osteria Procaccini, Party Fair, Pierre’s Bakery, Pizza Delizia, Sens Asian Cuisine, Staples, Stein Mart, Stop & Shop, Traders Joe’s, U-Line Shipping and Supplies and Wegmans.
