The Asteroids firepower was on display this weekend as they dominated Ewing to win 4-2. Scoring for the Asteroids was Mike Wijesinghe, Elijah Suggs, Matt Golden and Sharat Durbhakula. Golden’s score was his third of the season while Suggs has 2 goals on the season. Steve Sandoli, Wijesinghe and Dan Spivak lead the defensive effort. John Burke continues to be strong in goal.
In early season action, the Asteroids fell to Wayne 1-0 in a tightly contested game. Goalie John Burke made several outstanding saves while the defense continued its strong play. The Asteroids lost to South Plainfield 3-2 in a game that was a story of two halves.
Down 3-0 at halftime, the Asteroids roared back with constant pressure. Matt Golden’s rocket from 25 years out got the Asteroids on the board. Elijah Suggs added another goal with hustle in the goal box.

The Asteroids applied tremendous pressure in the closing minutes as they attempted to tie the game. Steve Sandoli, Dan Spivak, Sharat Durbhakula and Mike Wijesinghe elevated their defensive game in the second half to shut down South Plainfield.
